The boat journey takes fifty minutes. Your FFGR chauffeur meets you at the landing with the vehicle for the overland portion.
The river approach to the Médoc provides a perspective unavailable from the D2 road — the châteaux as they appeared to négociants arriving by sailing barge in the 18th century. We work with two Bordeaux négociants — Millésima and CVBG — who provide same-day bonded storage and international shipping from Bordeaux's port. Purchases made directly at châteaux can be consolidated and shipped as a single consignment, reducing documentation burden for the collector.
Half-Day vs. Full-Day Médoc Itineraries
A half-day Médoc tour from central Bordeaux (departing at 09:00, returning by 14:00) covers one appellation and one or two châteaux — appropriate for guests with afternoon commitments or for those who want a focused introduction rather than an immersive day. A full day (departing 08:30, returning 19:00) covers two or three communes with lunch and unhurried tastings.
For clients staying in the Médoc rather than in Bordeaux city — at Relais de Margaux or at a private estate rental — we provide transportation within the peninsula throughout the stay, rather than round trips from the city. The vehicle is at your disposal for the duration.
